A more technical kind of assembly role

Found Industrial are recruiting for an Assembly Technician / Complex Assembly Technician to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing business in the Storrington area.

This is not a basic production line role.

You’ll be working on detailed, technically involved mechanical and electro-mechanical builds, supporting products as they move from development and project work into repeatable production.

The environment is low-volume, quality-focused and highly technical. You’ll be working alongside experienced Technicians, Production staff and Engineering teams, with the opportunity to build your knowledge and take on increasingly complex work over time.

What you’ll be doing

• Building complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies
• Working from engineering drawings, BOMs, build instructions and technical documentation
• Completing detailed fitting, wiring, routing, bonding and component assembly
• Supporting low-volume, project-based and development-led builds
• Using hand tools, power tools and basic measuring equipment
• Carrying out checks, inspections and basic testing where required
• Identifying build issues and feeding them back to the relevant technical teams
• Supporting improvements as products move from development into production
• Maintaining accurate build records and following controlled processes
• Working to a consistently high standard of quality and precision

What we’re looking for

We’re particularly interested in people from backgrounds such as:

• Mechanical assembly
• Electro-mechanical assembly
• Skilled fitting
• Precision assembly
• Instrument making
• Panel wiring
• Cable assembly
• Toolmaking
• Automotive or aerospace assembly
• Specialist manufacturing
• Engineering build or prototype environments

You should be comfortable working with technical instructions and detailed components, and confident using tools in a practical manufacturing environment.

Experience that would be especially useful

• Reading engineering drawings or schematics
• Wiring, soldering or crimping
• Cable routing and termination
• Mechanical fitting
• Working with motors, sensors, PCBs or electrical components
• Precision measurement
• Basic fault finding or testing
• Prototype or first-build experience
• Low-volume manufacturing
• Working alongside Engineering, Quality or R&D teams
• ISO or other quality-controlled manufacturing environments

You don’t need to have done every element above.
